T. Bone Pickens a billionaire oil man said that water not oil is the gold of the future.
Control the water and you control the world. I quote him for this because he by himself is
buying up land in Texas that sits over America's largest Aquifer. He cannot buy t all because it
stretches from Texas to Wyoming and into the Dakotas. Also when we moved to Las Vegas
we took drives just to see what was around here. We went what is said "Over the hump,"
to Pahrump and the valley beyond. Now the area is built up and expensive but it used to be good
farm land. They bragged but do not anymore because water is gold that under the Pahrump valley
there was a large body of water that could supply every person in New York City 50 gallons
of water a day for 100 years. This was 1985. Now Lake Mead is down to levels it has not been since the 1940's
mainly because of water usage for crops and people in Southern Nevada and Southern California as well as
Western Arizona. The Colorado river no longer flows into the Baja Gulf but ends dried up miles away. Yet
this water sits their still to be tapped. Another little known fact is that the Luxor where I used to work sits on
an underground river. It is the main reason they had to build the additional towers because they to do it to counter balance
the pyramid or it would settle uneven and sink into the river or just one day collapse
