Daniel, please sign our petition on whitehouse.gov asking the Obama administration to withdraw the USDA's proposal to privatize poultry inspection. Click here to sign. Two weeks ago, we submitted more than 68,000 of your comments to the USDA in opposition to its proposal to privatize poultry inspection. Now the USDA is wobbling a bit, extending the public comment period on the proposal for an additional 30 days. To crank up the pressure, with the help of some allies we just created a petition on whitehouse.gov asking the Obama administration to rescind the USDA's proposal. When we get 25,000 signatures on this petition, the White House will issue an official response. It's hard to imagine the Obama administration coming out in favor of weakening food safety standards during an election year. As such, once we get 25,000 signatures, it's likely they will stop the privatization of poultry inspection from ever happening.
