Very good points. Believe it or not, this GOP campaign is beginning to remind me of the Taliban, those "holy" religious, one minded, if not for me/against me, zealots. Ironic they are called "terrorists"by our politicians, isn't it??? The similiarities are striking when you think about it. The GOP push for making women second class citizens by taking away our reproductive rights & healthcare is a prime example. The secular view of old world "Christianity" is another, along with the holier than thou moralistic focus to the total exclusion of other attitudes. I could go on, but I think you see what I'm getting at. Someone needs to address the similiarities. Someone needs to educate (if that's possible) the GOP on American History. Our so called "founding fathers" were in actuality a group of misfits from other countries. Simply put, they were the radicals of their time, trouble makers, some were convicts, thieves, & drunks. It was easier, far cheaper, to ship these folks to the New World (America, Australia, New Zealand, etc.) to settle & work. If they survived the voyage (many didn't) they were no longer a "nuisance" to the Europe not to mention confined. So all this bullshit about lily white morality is pure fantasy. I wonder what Australians & New Zealanders think of the USA. They seem NOT to have these "Christian" political debates nor, to the best of my knowledge, is race or creed an issue with their governments, exception being the Aboriginees. B.
