{Political_Views} Flashback: The President and the Press

 

And how much has this changed with the deregulation of the media, the removal of equal time, the advent of only 6 major right-winged
corporations control our American media. How would his speech have been received today? Would it even have been reported by  a certain
news organization? If Kennedy had been President on 9/11 would we have had the Patriotic Act, Homeland Security the TSA? Would we have
invaded Iraq? Would we have privatized all but the fighting force of our military? I extremely doubt it. It is shameful of our so called leaders to pass
these laws and do these things without accountability. It is even more shameful that the people of this country have become so conditioned
to not speak up, speak out and hold them accountable. It is shameful that when some do as in the Occupy movement that the press, and our
leaders make those people out to be bad guys, in the wrong, against the law and as Kennedy try to stifle descent.
