{Political_Views} The drugs don't work: a modern medical scandal | Ben Goldacre | Business | The Guardian

I read this article and yesterday had a doctors appointment. I asked the doctor if he knew how or if the medications (blood pressure and rapid heart rate) he was giving me worked or if they truly worked or were effective? He said he could not honestly tell me. So I told him until he could I not take any increase in dosage because in my mind that increase tells me  he did not know. Nor did he know of all the side effects they might cause.

I told him the reason he keep increasing the dosage was as he said that the medication was not working as good at the lower dosage. But the real fact was that he did not know if the medications were working at all and the only thing bringing my blood pressure down was that I was now retired and more relaxed and my heart rate was due to my change in diet not because of the medications.
