{Political_Views} Arrests made in attack on Pakistani girl Malala Yousafzai - latimes.com

PLUS A RANT;

  Conservative religious extremists are a problem all over the world, and always have been. In Muslim countries, they try to keep women uneducated and hidden under veils and, when that's questioned, they kill or try to kill the reformers, in the name of "GOD".

In Israel, Jewish religious conservatives steal more and more land from the Palestinians, much of whose land they already stole at the 1948 outset, again in the name of "GOD".

In the USA, so-called Christian Fundamentalists typically support the most elitist, anti-environmental, antipChristlike political and economic agendas on the public menu. Plus they want women's rights subjected to men's control,  just like the Muslim Fundamentalists, plus spout intolerance, hatred towards reformers again -- ALL in the name of "GOD".

Since many humans who belong to these 3 major religions are NOT like their fanatically conservative brothers and sisters, the deeper Question becomes:  Is Religion the basic problem?

To me the answer is YES. Throughout history Religion has and will always be a problem. Sadly no matter which religion, they all want to have some form and of control over the people. And sadly that problem is infecting the United states, in which the extremist get more media coverage than the moderate. They know it and thus wage a war against others who do not want to hate, kill and wage wars on people who do not want to live they way they say one suppose to. Those agitators clam religious precepts as their motivations no different than when preachers stood on the pulpit and quoted the bible in favor of slavery.
